Staff Software Engineer, Audio Editing

Location:

• Remote USA. This role can be performed anywhere from the United States.

The Role

On this team you are going to be responsible for the foundational rendering technologies that support GoPro’s media editing solution.

The person in this role will be responsible for designing and maintaining audio playback, editing, and encoding libraries, as well as building internal audio tools and assisting with development of new audio technologies.

What You Will Do

• Develop and improve audio editing libraries.
• Build or integrate key audio editing effects.
• Build tools for audio testing and effects prototyping.
• Collaborate with hardware teams to develop new audio technologies.
  
  

Skills We’re Excited About

• Cross Platform Development Experience (Desktop and Mobile)
• Proficient in C and C++
• Understanding of audio processing and data formats
• Understanding of 3D Mathematics, including vectors, matrices, and quaternions
  
  

Bonus Points For

• Experience with Python and C++/Python bindings.
• Experience with spatial or ambisonic audio.
• Experience with audio codecs and file formats.

The pay range for this role is between $150,450 - $233,450. Actual pay within the range is dependent on multiple factors, including your residence location and prior work experience. Equity, benefits, and a discretionary bonus may be additional forms of compensation for this role and are not included in the provided pay range.
