Location: Flexible (Sydney) - This role offers the flexibility to work from home, within proximity to an office location.
The Role
GoPro is seeking a top-tier Mechanical Engineer to join their innovative engineering team developing tech-enabled motorcycle helmets trackside at Sydney Motorsport Park. The role is hybrid between remote work and office, ensuring you will work closely with the world-class team designing, engineering and testing helmet technology at our headquarters, while providing the work-life balance of some days of remote work.
You will work from the early stages of the product, contributing your expert engineering knowledge to concept development, feasibility analysis, prototype development, engineering validation and design for manufacture.
You will also work closely with internal and external partners to generate all necessary documentation and test plans to confirm product(s) meet specification. In addition, you’ll ensure product features achieve cost, schedule, reliability, thermal and regulatory/safety goals. The ideal candidate should have thorough ability to use state-of-the-art CAD and analysis tools to create mechanical designs, primarily consisting of injection-molded plastic, stamped sheet-metal, and die-cast component assemblies for high-volume mass production.
The role requires an engineer with exceptional interpersonal skills to contribute to cross-disciplinary decision making around complicated product functions. The ideal candidate is a generous contributor to their team and a great collaborator outside of it.
