The Strategic Sourcing Manager will collaborate with our engineering teams to deliver high quality, cost effective new technologies with a competitive advantage for GoPro.  As Strategic Sourcing Manager you hold a critical role ensuring alignment between GoPro components’ technology roadmap and supplier selection/placement to meet GoPro’s business objectives. You will lead consensus (internal/external) in executing sourcing strategies and for overall supplier management (business, relationship, strategy).  This specific role will encompass embedded battery, PMIC, MCU, IC, GPS, diodes and transistors.

What You Will Do

  • Collaborate within the GoPro Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain teams, on a global basis, to develop component and module sourcing.
  • Develop and execute commodity strategies through close collaboration with Engineering teams. Lead the commercial activities to influence technical design decisions that meet technical capabilities and business objectives of the supply base.   
  • Lead the contract negotiation process with internal partners and suppliers.  
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to review technology and product roadmap on regular basis to get sourcing, technology and business alignment, with a particular emphasis in the area of sourcing of advanced technologies.  
  • Ensure a competitive sourcing environment leading to continuous improvement in quality, cost, service and technology.
  • Manage overall supplier relationships including supplier performance, capability development, cost and quality improvements.
  • Maintain knowledge of market trends including rigorous analysis of market drivers, cost structures and technical improvements in assigned commodity.    
  • Support our OEM supplier initiatives including cost reductions, VMI/JIT, lead-time reductions, favorable payment terms.   

Skills We’re Stoked About

  • 7+ years of experience in sourcing management, supply chain or high-volume manufacturing environment.   
  • Strong analytical, negotiation and critical thinking skills.
  • Knowledge of hardware/product development processes.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Willingness to operate in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience with contract negotiations.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Fluent Mandarin preferred.
