Job Title: Senior Automation Engineer
Location: Remote Romania - This role can be performed anywhere in Romania
The Role
This role will leverage the candidate’s software quality assurance and python programming experience to help design, build, and run automated test tools. The Senior Automation Engineer will be responsible for testing various parts of the GoPro product ecosystem, including mobile and desktop software, but focusing primarily on the video rendering engine at the heart of the GoPro ecosystem. The Senior Automation Engineer will work with several different departments in multiple locations to validate test coverage, execute automated and manual tests, and help generate automated quality reports for companywide visibility.
What You Will Do
- Help develop tools and tests for highly innovative professional desktop and mobile products
- Collaborate with Engineers, UX and Product Design to help define and test new features
- Integrate with a global test team located in San Diego, Bucharest, and Paris
- Create automated tests for GoPro’s video rendering engine
- Create detailed software bugs using logs and problem solving ability
- Generate detailed analysis and automated reports of product quality for distribution
Skills We’re Excited About
- BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field
- Experience with video encoding and decoding on mobile and desktop platforms
- 3+ Yrs Experience working in an agile software development environment
- 3+ years of experience in the Python programming language
- 2+ years of experience in the Java/Kotlin programming language
- Experience in creating automated test frameworks from scratch
- Familiarity with Linux environment (i.e., bash, CLI)
- Strong communication (written and verbal) skills
- Self-motivated
- Ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies and methodologies
- Team spirit
- Good problem-solving skills
